How these fit with our terms

These are the rules for sharing your referral link. Your account itself is covered by our terms, and everything in them applies here too: who you are agreeing with, what we do not promise, how much we can owe you, Dutch law, and how we tell you when something changes. Nothing on this page reduces any of that.

Taking part means using the link. There is no application to send and nothing to approve: using it is accepting these terms.

Who can take part

Anybody with a NoMore404 account, including a free one. Each account has one link. The link belongs to the account rather than to a person, so if the account is closed the link stops working and any commission that has not been paid stops with it.

What you earn

20% of every payment a customer who signed up through your link makes to us, for as long as they stay with us. Not the first payment only, and not for a year.

It is a share of money that arrived, not of a price list. A signup that never pays earns nothing, and so does a trial, a free plan, an invoice settled entirely by a credit or discount, and an invoice that fails. Where a customer pays a reduced price, your commission reduces by the same proportion, because the discount came out of the same payment.

A commission is earned in the currency the customer paid in, and we round it down to the cent.

How we decide a customer is yours

Somebody who follows your link gets one cookie, holding your code and nothing about them, which lasts 30 days. If they create an account in that time, that account is yours, and it stays yours for as long as it exists. The privacy page describes the cookie in the same words it describes the other four.

Attribution is best effort, and we would rather say so here than have you discover it. We will not know somebody was yours if they clear the cookie, refuse it, sign up on a different device or in a different browser, or follow somebody else's link after yours. Where two links were followed, the last one wins. We do not fingerprint visitors or build a profile to close those gaps, and we are not going to start: the reason the cookie needs no consent banner is that it holds a code and is read for this and nothing else.

An account is attributed once, when it is created. It is never moved to another partner afterwards, by us or by anybody asking.

What you may not do

The theme of this list is one thing: we are paying you for customers you brought us, not for standing in front of ones who were already on their way.

• No bidding on our name. Not NoMore404, not our domain, not a misspelling of either, on any search engine or advertising network.
• No advertisement using our name, logo or a domain resembling ours, and no paid search pointing straight at us. Write about us on your own pages instead, which is the thing we are actually paying for.
• No coupon, voucher or deal sites unless we have agreed it with you first. We do not issue coupons for this, and a site that invents one costs us the customer's trust as well as the margin.
• No referring yourself. Your own accounts, your colleagues' accounts on your instruction, or accounts you create to collect commission on. This one is enforced in the code rather than only asked for, and it earns nothing rather than being paid and reclaimed.
• No unsolicited mail, no spam, no posting the link where it is not wanted, and no automated traffic. If a moderator would remove it, do not use our link in it.
• Do not say things about us that are not true. Compare us with anybody you like, including unfavourably. Do not invent features, prices, certifications or customers, and do not present yourself as us or as part of us.

Agencies and managed service providers looking after monitoring for their clients are a legitimate and welcome case, and a different conversation from this one. Come and have it with us rather than working out where it sits on the list above.

When you are paid

A commission becomes payable 30 days after the payment it came from. That is past the window in which the payment could still be reversed, which is what keeps a clawback rare rather than routine. Until then it is shown on your own affiliate page as waiting.

We pay monthly, once what is payable reaches €100.00. Below that the balance rolls over to the next month and keeps rolling until it is reached. It does not expire, and the threshold is per currency, because a commission is paid in the currency the customer paid in.

Before the first payout, and not before that, we ask you for the details a transfer needs: your name or company name, your country, and your VAT number if you have one. An EU business number is validated and the payout is treated as reverse charge, so no VAT is added on our side. You are responsible for your own taxes on what we pay you, wherever you are. We issue a self billing invoice for each payout, which you accept by taking part, and you agree to tell us if the details you gave us change.

Payouts are made by hand while the programme is small, so write to us when there is something to collect rather than assuming we have noticed.

Commissions we hold, and ones we refuse

Some commissions wait for a person to look at them before they are paid. What causes that is a pattern that usually has an innocent explanation and sometimes does not: a burst of signups in one hour, a run of accounts that never confirmed their address, two accounts that look like one person, a link being loaded far more often than it is followed. Your affiliate page shows those separately rather than quietly folding them into the total, so you can see that it is happening and ask us why.

A few earn nothing at all, and those are facts rather than patterns: a customer who is your own account, a link that has been retired, and an account we refused as a spam signup when it was created. We keep the reason, so if you ask us why a payment earned you nothing there is an answer rather than a shrug.

Money that comes back

If a payment is refunded or charged back, the commission on it is reversed. Inside the 30 days above that simply means it never becomes payable. If it has already been paid to you, we deduct it from your next payout rather than asking you for money back.

If commission was earned by breaking the rules above, we can reverse it and withhold what has not been paid. We will tell you what we think happened and why before we do, unless what happened was fraud.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by not using the link. Nothing has to be cancelled and commission already payable is still paid.

We can retire a link for breaking the rules on this page, and we will say which rule. A retired link stops attributing new signups; customers already attributed to you go on earning unless the reason for retiring it was that those customers were not real.

Changes to these terms

We can change this page. A change that reduces what you earn, or that disallows a channel you are using, applies to payments made 30 days after we publish it rather than immediately, and we will email partners with an active link when we make one. Commission already accrued is not affected by a later change.

We can also end the programme. If we do, links stop attributing new signups from the day we say so, and everything already accrued is paid out in the normal run, minimum or no minimum.
